Golfing in Griffith City Council
Out in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area, Griffith's two public courses show Riverina golf at its best. Griffith Golf Club in Collina, established in 1926, marks its centenary in 2026 and is widely seen as one of the Riverina's best courses: an 18-hole parkland layout in the foothills of Scenic Hill, with kikuyu fairways lined by native trees, fast bent greens and kangaroos roaming the property. With just two bunkers and no water hazards it is more strategic than punishing, though its length keeps it honest, and the clubhouse balcony looks over the 1st tee and the 9th and 18th greens. Yenda Golf Course, a community-run club about 15 kilometres north-west of Griffith, is a relaxed, volunteer-kept 18 played around 12 grass greens, with scenic water holes that come into play twice in a round.
