1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Fairway Finders ("we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, holds and discloses your personal information when you use our website at fairwayfinders.com.au and any related services (the "Service").
We are committed to handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy tells you what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy.
2. What personal information we collect
You can browse most of the Service without telling us who you are. Where it is lawful and practicable, you may deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym.
We collect the following types of personal information:
Information you give us directly
- When you contact us (for example via our contact form or by email): your name, email address, and the content of your message.
- If you submit a course rating, review, photo or other content: the content you provide and any information you choose to include in it.
- If you sign up for updates or newsletters: your email address.
Location information
- If you use the "Near me" / "Use my location" feature, we collect your device's approximate geolocation so we can show courses near you. We only do this with your permission, and you can decline or turn location access off at any time in your browser or device settings. Declining will not stop you from using the rest of the Service.
Information we collect automatically
- When you visit the Service we automatically collect technical and usage data such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, links clicked, referring pages and the dates/times of your visits. We collect this through cookies and similar technologies (see section 6).
We do not seek to collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act). Please do not include sensitive information in reviews or messages to us.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- provide, operate and improve the Service;
- show you nearby courses and relevant content when you use location features;
- display course ratings, reviews and other content you submit;
- respond to your enquiries and provide support;
- send you updates or communications you have asked to receive (you can opt out at any time);
- monitor, secure and troubleshoot the Service and prevent misuse; and
- comply with our legal obligations.
We will only use your personal information for the purposes for which it was collected, for a reasonably related purpose you would expect, or as otherwise permitted by law.
4. When we disclose your information
We may disclose personal information to:
- Service providers who help us run the Service, such as website hosting, data storage, email delivery and analytics providers, who are only permitted to use it to provide services to us.
- Google Maps Platform. The Service uses Google Maps and related Google services to display maps, locations and course information. Your use of those features is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Authorities or third parties where we are required or authorised by law, or where reasonably necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
- A successor entity in connection with a sale, merger or restructure of our business, subject to this policy.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers (including Google and our analytics and hosting providers) may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries. Where we disclose information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Service working, remember your preferences, and understand how the Service is used. Where we use analytics tools, we do so to collect usage statistics in aggregated or de-identified form.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Some features of the Service may not work properly if you disable cookies.
7. Reviews and public content
Any rating, review, photo or other content you submit that is displayed on the Service may be publicly visible. Please do not include personal information you do not want to be public. You are responsible for the content you post (see our Terms & Conditions).

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law, after which we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
10. Accessing and correcting your information
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. To make a request, contact us using the details in section 13. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first. In limited circumstances we may decline a request as permitted by law, and if so we will tell you why.

The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
