Golfing in Narrabri Shire Council
Golf across Narrabri Shire is unpretentious country fare, with a public course in each of the three main towns of this cotton-growing stretch of the North West Slopes along the Namoi River. Narrabri Golf Course at Narrabri West, known to locals as the Golfie, is the pick of them: an 18-hole parkland layout playing to par 71, with a renovated clubhouse whose deck and verandah look straight out over the fairways. A children's playground makes it an easy choice for families. Out west, Wee Waa Golf Club is a locally run community venue suited to a laid-back round away from city crowds. Boggabri keeps things simpler still, a volunteer-run nine-holer on sand greens for anyone after a slow, friendly hit in a small-town setting.
