Golfing in District Council of Ceduna
On South Australia's isolated far west coast, Ceduna is known for oysters and for its place at the eastern end of the Nullarbor Links, established in 2009: an 18-hole, par-72 course stretched over 1,365 kilometres of the Eyre Highway, with a hole in each town or roadhouse between Kalgoorlie and Ceduna. Ceduna hosts two of those holes, framed by rugged natural terrain and regarded by travellers as among the better-kept on the route. One is the par-4 Denial Bay at Ceduna Golf Club, which is a public 18-hole course in its own right, with surprisingly green fairways for such arid country and traditional sand greens. Along the coast, Smoky Bay Golf Club is a quiet beachside country course with scrape greens, a relaxed round that is also open to visitors.
