Golfing in Shire of Coorow
A long, narrow strip of the Mid West running from the coast inland, the Shire of Coorow has two 18-hole, par-72 courses, both open to the public. Green Head Golf Club, out on The Lakes Road near the coast, plays through natural bushland on sand greens that add an extra dimension and test every part of the game; it is at its best in spring, when fairway cover peaks, and members go out of their way to welcome newcomers. Coorow Golf Club is the inland alternative, the country course in the farming town itself on the old Midland Railway line, offering an honest, no-frills full round in an unhurried rural setting.
