About the course
Parkland golf carved through towering Flooded Gums at the Great Dividing Range's foot
Bonville International Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 parkland course set in Bonville on the Coffs Coast of New South Wales, midway between Sydney and Brisbane. Operating as a resort course, it measures 5,898 metres and features 51 mapped bunkers, with each hole flanked by towering Flooded Gums and isolated from the next. Notable holes include the water-guarded opening hole, a short dogleg-right 2nd, a testing par-three 3rd, and the unique par-five 4th split by a large gorge. Facilities include a driving range, pro shop, restaurant/dining, cart hire, coaching, and parking.
Set at the foot of the Great Dividing Range, Bonville is widely regarded as one of Australia's most picturesque golfing experiences, with players consistently describing nearly every hole as postcard-worthy. The layout rises and dips dramatically through subtropical surrounds, and visitors frequently praise the sense of seclusion that comes from each hole being framed privately by lush gum forest. Reviewers reserve special admiration for the conditioning, often calling the fairways and the fast, sloping greens pristine and immaculately maintained, though some note the course can play wet and soft after rain. The challenge is regarded as rewarding for golfers of every standard, with memorable elevation changes and dramatic carries earning the course a strong reputation as a bucket-list destination. Warm, attentive staff and the on-site dining round out an experience many describe as well worth the trip.

If played conservatively with a club that can't reach the left hand bunker the first fairway is quite generous, the water down the right is sure to add to the first tee nerves though. Take one extra club when approaching the green to avoid the cavernous bunkers.
