About the course
Hurdzan-designed parkland climbing to ocean views on the Mid North Coast
Tallwoods Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 parkland course in Tallwoods on the NSW Mid North Coast, designed by Dr Michael Hurdzan. The course features undulating topography with severe elevation changes, several green complexes set in little amphitheatres, and a mix of high-canopy eucalyptus, native vegetation and extensive water features, with views above the tree tops to the ocean. As a resort course it offers a pro shop and a restaurant/dining venue.
Tallwoods has a reputation as a challenging, well-presented layout, with returning players noting how consistently the course is kept and how genuinely demanding it can play. Its dramatic, hilly terrain and amphitheatre greens give the round real character, and many visitors arrive as part of a stay-and-play getaway. Guests frequently single out the warm, welcoming staff and the standout food at the club's dining venue as highlights of their trip. The atmosphere comes across as relaxed and social, making it a popular choice for groups and weekend escapes. While conditioning can soften after heavy rain, the overall impression remains overwhelmingly positive and the sort of place people return to again and again.
