About the course
Renovated parkland public course for all, every day of the week
Freeway Public Golf Course is an 18-hole, par-55 parkland course in Balwyn North, Victoria, measuring 4,645 metres. The fully public layout was redesigned by Pacific Coast Design and features 17 mapped bunkers. Facilities include a pro shop, restaurant/dining, cart hire, club hire and coaching, with tee times available seven days a week.
Following a recent redesign and rerouting, Freeway has earned a reputation as a well-presented public course that welcomes players of all ages and abilities. Regular visitors consistently praise the manicured, peaceful surfaces and the noticeably improved drainage compared with the old layout, alongside a generally smooth pace of play and surprisingly clean on-course facilities. Some players note that the narrower, water- and bush-lined fairways make it more of a test than a pure beginner's track, so newcomers may want to bring plenty of balls. The setting feels flat and easy to walk, though a few reviewers mention noise from the nearby freeway. Overall, it carries a friendly, unpretentious atmosphere that keeps locals coming back.
