About the course
Murray Dawson bushland parkland where the kangaroos outnumber the bunkers
Marangaroo Golf Course is an 18-hole, par-72 public parkland course in Marangaroo, Western Australia, measuring 5,471 metres. Designed by Murray Dawson and established in 1988, it winds through natural bushland with many doglegs and blind tee shots. Its standout is the 11th, a narrow double dogleg playing over a hill. Facilities include a driving range, putting green, pro shop, restaurant/dining, clubhouse, cart and club hire, coaching and parking.
Set in natural bushland and home to hundreds of kangaroos, Marangaroo is widely regarded as a relaxed, casual round suited to all levels rather than a stern test. Visitors frequently praise the friendly, welcoming staff at the counter and pro shop, the well-managed tee times, and the genuine value for money. The all-grass practice tee earns a mention as a treat over automated mats, and the on-site coffee gets a nod. The course is generally seen as gentle but interesting, with its doglegs, blind shots and the wildlife adding plenty of character. While the overall reputation is warm and positive, a few players note that conditioning and management interactions can be hit and miss.
