Golfing in Liverpool Plains Shire Council
On the black-soil plains of the North West Slopes, Liverpool Plains has three public country courses, each with its own small-town character. Quirindi Golf Club, which has been celebrating 100 years of golf in the town, plays to an unusually high par of 75, and its greens are the talking point, regularly described as in the best condition visitors have seen. It is a relaxing, well-manicured and walkable round. Werris Creek, about 20 kilometres north-east of Quirindi, is a proper old-school nine-holer with oiled scrapes for greens and no bunkers, plus a friendly clubhouse with food and a cold beer afterwards. The village of Spring Ridge has an 18-hole course of its own, a quiet local layout for golfers who like to get well off the beaten track.
