Golfing in Woollahra Municipal Council
Rose Bay is home to both of Woollahra's courses, on Sydney's eastern harbourside, and they offer two very different rounds. The Royal Sydney Golf Club, founded in 1893, is a private members' club that has hosted the Australian Open 15 times, and its championship course has been redeveloped under architect Gil Hanse into a strategic, choice-driven layout where bunkers come into play on nearly every hole and the elevated 5th is a highlight. The club also keeps a nine-hole Centenary Course. Woollahra Golf Club is the public option, a par-34 nine-holer in play since 1927, forgiving and approachable enough for golfers of every level, with well-kept greens and a harbourside setting minutes from both the CBD and Bondi.
