Golfing in Redland City Council
Redland City's golf hugs the southern shore of Moreton Bay and spills onto the islands, giving it a rare mix of mainland parkland and ferry-access nines. Redland Bay Golf Club at Victoria Point has the longest story, with a first course on German Church Road in 1919 before the move in 1934 to a Stan Francis design that is now a public par-70 18. It is a fair parkland test on the bay foreshore, with a stroke-index-one hole that players describe as a genuine beast. Across the water, Bay Islands Golf Club is a friendly, well-kept nine on Macleay Island, a 15-minute ferry ride from Redland Bay Marina, where dolphins and dugong can be part of the journey. North Stradbroke Island Golf Club adds another public nine, gently undulating through native bush with views over Brown Lake.
