Golfing in District Council of Elliston
Elliston's stretch of the western Eyre Peninsula is farming, fishing and big coastal country, and both of its courses are open to the public. Elliston Golf Course is a coastal 18-hole layout by the town, set on undulating ground above Waterloo Bay with sweeping views over the bay, its entrance and the town itself; the wind can have a say, though most visitors find it manageable. Its clubhouse doubles as a place for travellers to camp and for locals to gather of an evening, so a round here is as social as it is scenic. Inland, Lock Golf Club is a sand-scrape country course in the farming heartland of the central Eyre Peninsula, with wide, forgiving fairways and a small-town clubhouse at the centre of things.
