Golfing in City of Mandurah
Coast and estuary define Mandurah, and its three courses, all open to the public, cover dune links, bushland and tree-lined parkland. The Cut at Dawesville is the showpiece, a James Wilcher links of about 6,300 metres carved into ocean-front dunes, its opening stretch along the coast taking in an elevated tee at the 2nd and a par-3 4th sitting beneath a huge dune; thick rough and demanding bunkers make it a real test in the sea breeze. Meadow Springs Golf & Country Club, a Robert Trent Jones Jnr design opened in 1987, winds through bushland and mature tuarts, with narrow fairways, water and clever bunkering rewarding strategy. Mandurah Country Club in Halls Head, founded in 1960, is a par-71 Murray Dawson layout of tree-lined fairways.
