About the course
Friendly all-year seaside golf on the Yorke Peninsula
Wool Bay Golf Club is a private 18-hole, par-73 course established in 1948 on the western side of Wool Bay, a small seaside town between Stansbury and Coobowie in the southern Yorke Peninsula, South Australia. The course is a non-irrigated nine-hole layout with scrapes, played twice to make up a full round. It features broad fairways and well maintained scrapes, and is playable year-round. The club lies about two and a half hours' drive from Adelaide.
Wool Bay carries a reputation as a small but welcoming community club where the relaxed, no-frills experience is part of the charm. Visitors tend to comment on how green and well maintained the course can be, with the non-irrigated turf playing differently through the seasons -- shots run further across the dry summer grass, while cooler, wetter months bring conditions closer to a watered course. The broad fairways and tidy scrapes are regularly singled out as making for an enjoyable, unhurried day's golf. Low-cost green fees and a friendly atmosphere add to its appeal as an easygoing seaside round on the Yorke Peninsula.
