Golfing in Yorke Peninsula Council
Farming country and a coastline of lighthouses and shipwrecks set the scene for six public 18-holers, a classic Yorke Peninsula spread of relaxed, good-value country and seaside golf. Maitland Golf Club is the oldest, dating from 1899, a par-70 parkland course with watered fairways and a few tricky holes to keep things interesting. Ardrossan, founded in 1924, is a short, gently undulating par-70 coastal layout with watered fairways and consistent sand-scrape greens, often rated among the peninsula's best. Wool Bay (1948) is a non-irrigated seaside course of broad fairways and tidy scrapes that runs fast in summer, while Port Vincent wins visitors over with views across farmland to the sea. Minlaton and Warooka are both par-72 country courses, Minlaton billing itself as a challenging 18 and Warooka known as a tough but rewarding round.
