About the course
Heathland golf on Tasmania's coast, played since 1923
Seabrook Golf Course is a public heathland course at Wynyard in Tasmania, Australia, played since 1923. Originally laid out as nine holes on the sand dunes at East Wynyard, it gained a further nine holes on the river flats along Seabrook Creek in the 1960s, and in 2023 was reconfigured into a new 11-hole layout. The course has 12 mapped bunkers and offers a pro shop, club hire and coaching.
With its mix of dune and creek-flat terrain, Seabrook offers two distinct styles of golf in a single round, and visitors often note a genuinely challenging front stretch. Players consistently praise the friendly, approachable staff and the quality of the coaching on offer, with beginners in particular reporting quick improvement. The course is regularly described as being in good condition, with fairways and greens that seem well looked after. The well-stocked pro shop, complete with club and buggy hire, is frequently singled out as a highlight, and many reviewers feel a round here represents excellent value.
