About the course
Picturesque 9-hole parkland round overlooking the Swan River
Point Walter Golf Course is a public 9-hole parkland course in Bicton, in the southern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia, measuring 2,577 metres to a par of 35. The layout features six mapped bunkers and a single par 5 (hole 3), whose green runs toward the river with extra break, while the par-3 2nd plays into the wind and the 4th is a narrow right-to-left dog-leg. Facilities include a putting green, pro shop, clubhouse, restaurant/dining, coaching, cart and club hire, and parking. The course is open seven days a week.
Set above the Swan River, the course enjoys a reputation for being superbly maintained, with players consistently praising the immaculate greens and well-groomed fairways. Reviewers describe it as a welcoming, family-friendly layout that suits all abilities: wide fairways forgiving enough for beginners, paired with fast, cleverly contoured greens that reward a thoughtful approach. The terrain is hillier than many expect, and the par 3s in particular are said to tempt golfers into the riskier line. With few bunkers and no water hazards, it's regarded as an enjoyable, walkable round, while the on-site café and friendly staff round out the relaxed, easygoing atmosphere.
