Golfing in Hilltops Council
Spread across the South West Slopes, Hilltops is cherry and grazing country, and each of its three main towns has its own public 18-hole course. Young Golf Club, dating from 1906, is regarded as one of the best courses in country New South Wales: a tight, well-presented layout on kikuyu fairways and bent greens that rewards accuracy and looks good year-round, with enough hills to make a cart a popular choice. Harden Country Club, established in 1931, plays to a hefty par of 74 across rolling parkland, its sloping fairways demanding thoughtful course management, and its tidy condition and country outlook add to the appeal. Boorowa Golf Club is the shorter, more relaxed option, a par-64 layout with a laid-back atmosphere and a clubhouse that does as much for the town's social life as for its golfers.
