Golfing in Blackall-Tambo Regional Council
Each of Blackall-Tambo's two towns has its own public 18-hole course, and both offer classic outback golf across the grazing country of inland Queensland. Blackall Golf Club plays over dry fairways to sand greens, a pleasant, walkable par-71 layout where the sand scrapes are kept in good order even if the fairways can be patchy. Finding the way between some tees takes a moment, but the welcome from local members leaves a strong impression. Tambo Golf Club, out on the Alpha road, pairs sand greens with natural fairways set against an outback backdrop. There is room to open up off the tee, a few water hazards to keep things honest and some interesting greens, with the pub on site making it an easy place to linger after a round.
