Golfing in Mid Murray Council
Strung along 220 kilometres of the Murray between the Riverland and the Mount Lofty Ranges, Mid Murray's golf is public country golf with a river backdrop. Swan Reach is the charmer: an undulating all-grass nine on the banks of the Murray with 18 tees for a full round, a serene setting and a historic stone clubhouse with an open fireplace, kept going by friendly locals and volunteers. Mannum Golf Club at Port Mannum is another nine-holer, with good greens, some genuinely challenging holes and camping beside the clubhouse that makes it popular with travellers. Morgan-Cadell Golf Club at Morgan is the only full 18-hole country layout of the three, a social, affordable course suited to its dry inland setting, so don't expect lush fairways year-round.
