Golfing in Wyndham City Council
Between Melbourne and Geelong on Port Phillip, Wyndham's four courses are all open to the public and span three decades of modern design. Werribee Park is the elder, a mid-1970s Kevin Hartley parkland layout beside the Werribee River and Red Cliffs, mostly flat with generous fairways, water and around 50 bunkers, on free-draining soil that keeps it playable all year. Sanctuary Lakes at Point Cook is a links-style Greg Norman design from 1999, threaded through a lakeside estate and played as a risk-and-reward adventure of driveable par 4s, water carries and big bunkers. Eynesbury, a 2007 Graham Marsh course, is a championship-rated par 70 with wide fairways, creeks and multi-tiered greens that bite when the wind gets up. RAAF Williams Laverton offers nine holes inside a working air base; bring ID.
