Golfing in City of Bayswater
All of Bayswater's golf is public, and it sits about 7 kilometres from the CBD along the Swan River. The Maylands Peninsula course occupies the riverbank on the site of an airport that opened in 1924; golf arrived in 1994 with nine holes, later expanded to a full 18. It is a par-70 parkland layout with no bunkers at all, which makes it friendly for beginners, yet water hazards, doglegs and contoured greens keep regulars honest, and the riverside back-nine holes come with views of the Perth skyline and Optus Stadium. Embleton Golf Course is a quieter public nine of tricky par 3s and 4s, a par-31 parkland loop of about 1,700 metres where short-game touch counts for far more than power.
