Golfing in Tweed Shire Council
Tweed golf is built around one big facility and a handful of smaller rounds in the far north-east corner of NSW. Coolangatta & Tweed Heads Golf Club is the drawcard: formed in 1927 and at its present site since 1936, it now offers 36 holes of public parkland golf at Tweed Heads South, split across two distinct courses near the Tweed River, with strong practice facilities. Inland, Murwillumbah is an 18-hole, par-71 parkland with real elevation change and a mountain-range backdrop that gives it plenty of scenic appeal. Club Banora is a public nine-holer at Banora Point, played twice from dual tees for a full round. Pottsville's par-28 nine is a private members' course, almost all par 3s, with elevated tees, ocean views and water guarding the tiered final green.
