Golfing in Scenic Rim Regional Council
The Scenic Rim's golf is played in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range, among World Heritage-listed national parks, and it is mostly nine-hole country golf with one full 18. That 18 is Beaudesert Golf Club, dating from 1932, a public parkland course with well-kept fairways and a relaxed, community feel. The three public nines each have their own pull. Tamborine Mountain, founded by 23 locals in November 1959, sits 500 metres up with views to the Pacific, stays several degrees cooler than the coast and doesn't flood in the wet; its 18 tees make the second loop play differently. Canungra Area Golf Club, from 1972, follows the Coomera River, which creates water hazards on several holes, while Boonah Golf Club plays to par 72 at Dugandan and is known for its greens.
