Golfing in Wagga Wagga City Council
Wagga Wagga offers three 18-hole courses across the Riverina, ranging from a lakeside members' club to suburban public golf. Wagga Wagga Country Club, established in 1928 on the banks of Lake Albert, is a members' club that welcomes guests to its par-73 championship course by Dan Soutar and J.C. Sheekey. Regarded as one of the better country layouts in the region, it is known for manicured fairways and water views from the clubhouse. Wagga City Golf Club began at the Wagga racecourse in 1895 and now plays 18 holes at Moorong, five minutes west of the CBD, where generous tree-lined fairways lead to large, mounded greens and a water-guarded signature 9th that rewards a sharp short game. Kapooka Golf Club is another public 18-hole option with a relaxed, country-style feel.
