Golfing in Goondiwindi Regional Council
Goondiwindi Region runs along the Queensland–New South Wales border on the Darling Downs, and its golf is classic inland country fare built around two public clubs. The headline act is Goondiwindi Golf Club, part of town life since 1925 and now past its centenary. Its 18-hole, par-73 parkland course follows a natural watercourse, so water features come into play, and players regularly come away impressed by how good the greens and fairways are given the dry climate. It is a friendly, community-minded club where visitors are made genuinely welcome, in the pro shop and in the clubhouse afterwards. Inglewood offers something smaller and simpler: a public nine-hole country course with an unpretentious, local feel, well suited to a relaxed hit if you are passing through.
