Golfing in Copper Coast Council
Each of the Copper Coast's three main towns on the Yorke Peninsula has a public 18-hole course, and together they make an easy little circuit. Kadina Golf Club, dating from 1904 and shaped by Vern Morcom, is a challenging sand-green layout regarded as one of the finest on the peninsula; wayward hooks and slices are quickly punished, but volunteers keep the fairways and greens in fine shape. Wallaroo is one of the oldest clubs on the Yorke Peninsula and is playable all year round; its volunteers recently converted all 18 holes to grass greens, and several water hazards add interest. Moonta Golf Club sits on the coast at Port Hughes, a par-72 layout with a welcoming, community feel that suits a quick hit or a more serious round equally well.
