Golf in the City of Wanneroo

Wanneroo's golf, spread across Perth's northern fringe and coastal sandplain, is entirely public. Sun City at Yanchep leads the way: a 1974 Bob Green layout redesigned by Ogilvy, Clayton, Cocking & Mead and ranked among Australia's Top 100 public-access courses, with fast, true greens, strategic new holes and a memorable short par-4 13th. Yanchep National Park has its own par-71 course, rough-edged bush golf where kangaroos and koalas are part of the round. Wanneroo Golf Club plays out at Pinjar, a tree-lined parkland 18 of lush fairways, quick greens and well-placed bunkers. Closer to the suburbs, Marangaroo, a 1988 Murray Dawson design set in natural bushland, and Carramar, a 1994 Bob Stanton course, are both par-72 public layouts due for upgrades.
