Golfing in Federation Council
Federation's golf is concentrated on the Murray River, and all three courses are public, making it a natural base for a classic river golf trip. Yarrawonga Mulwala Golf Club Resort at Mulwala began as the Yarrawonga Golf Club in 1897 and is now Australia's largest public-access golf resort, with 45 holes across three courses between the river and Lake Mulwala. The Peter Thomson and Mike Wolveridge-designed Murray Course winds through towering river gums, lakes and lagoons, alongside the Lake Course and a nine-hole Executive Course. Corowa Golf Club sits on the river itself, a par 72 that mixes wide fairways and big greens with tighter holes, drivable par 4s and testing par 3s. Howlong Golf Resort, an 18-hole, par-72 course, is flat and lush, its narrow irrigated fairways and strategic bunkering rewarding position over length.
