Golfing in Penrith City Council
Penrith's golf runs from historic to modern across the Nepean River country west of Sydney, with the Blue Mountains as a near-constant backdrop. Glenmore Heritage Valley at Mulgoa, opened in May 1927, is the second-oldest metropolitan course west of Parramatta, still using a 185-year-old homestead and coach-house; its 27 holes split into a championship Links 18 and a more social Valley 18. Twin Creeks at Luddenham is the private alternative, a 2006 Graham Marsh parkland with bold bunkering and kangaroos on the back nine. The public 18-holers make up the bulk: Penrith at Glenmore Park, the long and honest Dunheved, the shorter tree-lined Leonay, Wallacia with its undulating greens, and Orchard Hills. Colonial at Werrington adds a compact nine-holer with footgolf for juniors, beginners and families.
