Golfing in Gladstone Regional Council
Gladstone's golf reaches from an industrial city to the coastal bushland around Agnes Water, and every course is public. The main course is Gladstone Golf Club's Yaralla layout at Kin Kora, a relatively flat, tree-lined par-70 parkland 18 where water hazards cross several fairways and the greens and bunkers are the strengths. Boyne Island Tannum Sands Golf Club plays 17 holes to par 67 and can be looped for a longer round, while Calliope offers a full 18-hole country course at a manageable length, with very little sand to worry about. In the south, Miriam Vale has a volunteer-run nine-holer of small, steep greens, and the Town of 1770 course at Round Hill is a par-34 nine in coastal bushland, with raised greens, water holes and a risk-reward short par-4 4th.
