Golfing in Banana Shire Council

All six courses in Banana Shire are public country layouts, and together they make an honest circuit of Central Queensland bush golf inland from Gladstone. Biloela's 14-hole course at Valentine Plains, just out of town, is the most interesting of them: a mostly flat par-56 that plays as an 18-hole round from dual tees, with dry waterways cleverly worked into the back holes, a memorable short par-4 12th and greens kept in excellent condition for a small-town club. Theodore, Taroom and Baralaba each offer 18 holes of relaxed country golf, while Moura is a compact, volunteer-maintained track known for the friendliness of the locals who keep it going. Wowan rounds things out with a nine-hole course that plays to par 70 from dual tees, ideal for a quick, unhurried loop.
