Golfing in Lockyer Valley Regional Council
Every course in the Lockyer Valley is public, and no two are alike, spread across valley towns such as Gatton, Laidley and Helidon. Gatton Jubilee Golf Club has the only full 18-hole course: a par-71 parkland layout with tree-lined fairways, doglegs and enough elevation to make the front nine's slopes tricky, and it tends to surprise visitors expecting a modest country track. Laidley Golf Club, a 12-hole David Burrup design near Forest Hill, overlooks Lake Dyer and Bill Gunn Dam; separate tees let you play 9, 12 or 18 holes, and its greens are well regarded for a country course. The club's history runs back far enough that play was suspended from 1941 to 1948. Hattonvale Golf Club at Hatton Vale completes the set with an 11-hole layout, dual tees and a family-friendly clubhouse.
