Golfing in Glamorgan Spring Bay Council
All three courses on Tasmania's central east coast are public nine-holers on the Great Eastern Drive, which makes them easy to link on a road trip. Bicheno Golf Club, five kilometres north of town, is a fully irrigated Alf Toogood layout from 1968 with 18 tees, relaxed country character and a lovely coastal setting; hire clubs come from the newsagency in town. Freycinet Golf Club, 6.5 kilometres west of Coles Bay, was laid out by Bill Husband in 1993 with tight driving holes, man-made lakes and river and coastal views, and its exposed site means the wind often decides your score. Swansea Golf Club is a par-62 nine that's open all year, right on the coast at Waterloo Point with views across Great Oyster Bay to Freycinet.
