Golfing in Corangamite Shire Council
Stretching from Skipton in the north to the limestone cliffs at Port Campbell, Corangamite is Western District country golf through and through, and all six courses are public. Cobden is the oldest, dating from 1908, a sociable parkland course with Santa Ana fairways, bentgrass greens and a bistro that earns as many compliments as the golf. Camperdown's 18-hole country course has sweeping views over Lake Gnotuk and is kept in fine condition. Terang's 18 holes are approachable, with few hazards to trouble beginners. Timboon, about 15 minutes inland from Port Campbell, has played at its current site since 1964 and has grown from nine holes to an unusual 14, with tight holes that play over water. Skipton and Lismore are nine-holers, Lismore doubling as a handy coffee stop on the road to Warrnambool.
