Golfing in Hornsby Shire Council

Stretching from the M2 north to the Hawkesbury River, Hornsby Shire has two courses that are quite different propositions. Pennant Hills Golf Club in Beecroft is the private members' club, incorporated in 1923 on the site it still occupies, and its par-71 championship course has hosted the NSW Men's and Ladies Amateur Championships. Often described as one of Sydney's most picturesque layouts, it is notably hilly, with long, demanding par 3s, a handful of blind shots and true-rolling greens that reward thoughtful play. Asquith Golf Club, opened in 1938, is the public alternative: an 18-hole, par-70 parkland course of a little over 5,200 metres set against a bushland backdrop close to the M1. Relaxing yet challenging, it has manicured fairways and sweeping views across the property that are at their best as the sun goes down.
