Golfing in Baw Baw Shire Council
West Gippsland's three public courses all have deep roots, and each suits a slightly different golfer. Drouin Golf & Country Club, dating from 1902, added a third nine in 2002 to become Gippsland's only 27-hole course, a friendly, good-value country club with quirky local charm, fairways that hold up through winter and well-kept greens. Trafalgar Golf Club was founded in 1909 and has occupied four sites since; its par-70 parkland course at Trafalgar East is relaxed and uncrowded, well conditioned even in dry spells and both enjoyable and challenging, with home-style catering in the clubhouse. Warragul Country Club, which began life as Warragul Golf Club, was redesigned by Vern Morcom in 1961-62 and is now a par-66 parkland round among native plants and wildlife, with a popular bistro and bar.
