Golfing in City of Canterbury Bankstown
Canterbury-Bankstown's three courses cover the spectrum from members' parkland to a pay-and-play nine. Bankstown Golf Club at Milperra is the senior course: established in 1928, it is a members' club that welcomes visitors, a par-71 layout of a little over 6,000 metres with holes beside the Georges River and fairways cut through native bushland. Its greens and conditioning are well regarded, and it caters for everyone from beginners to low markers. Georges River Golf Course near Bankstown Aerodrome is a good-value public par 70 whose opening holes call for straight driving through tight, tree-lined corridors, while still suiting newer players. Canterbury at Beverly Hills, operated by the council, is a public nine with no bookings needed: turn up, pay and play a run of short par 3s, elevated tees and fast, true greens that reward a sharp short game.
