Golfing in City of Greater Dandenong
South-east of Melbourne, in a busy manufacturing and logistics hub where almost a third of the land still lies in green wedge, Greater Dandenong packs in three very different golf options. The serious test is Keysborough Golf Club, a private Sandbelt course that traces its roots to about 1898, when it was founded as the Albert Park Golf Club. It is tree-lined and demanding, with water in the surrounds and conditioning that players rate highly. At Bangholme, Eastern Sward is a public nine-holer laid out by Mike Clayton in 1995: a flat, forgiving round with wide fairways, four small lakes and alternate tees for a full 18, ideal for beginners and anyone rebuilding confidence. Cornish Links, also at Bangholme, is a private nine-hole club set within Cornish College's leafy grounds.
