Golfing in Campaspe Shire Council
About 180 kilometres north of Melbourne, in rich farming and food-processing country around Echuca, Campaspe's golf is entirely public and mostly old-school country fare. Rochester Golf Club, dating from 1910, is the most distinctive: a sand scrape course on well-draining sandy loam, with four layouts to choose from and play available year-round. Kyabram has two options. Valley View is an 18-hole, par-72 course in the valley of Mount Scobie, a mostly flat round with good greens, few bunkers and some tight driving, sharing its grounds with 16 bowls rinks. Kyabram Parkland is an 18-hole, par-54 short course kept in shape by dedicated volunteers and known for its lively social side. Lockington and Bamawm round things out with full 18-hole country courses, Lockington an easygoing sand scrape layout that rewards steady play.
